FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's water polo (3-4, 0-0) took down Fresno Pacific (1-7, 0-0) 18-13 in the first of two games in the Fullerton Mini Invitational.
After taking the first quarter 6-3, the Kingsmen remained in the driver's seat until the end, not surrendering more than four goals in any of the four periods.
Cal Lutheran spread the wealth on offense as 11 Kingsmen found the net, with no one scoring more than three times.
Levi Cook and
Merrick Giles each netted hat tricks, the former's third game in a row doing so and fifth in the team's seven games this season.
Nick Mastropoalo,
Brody Swarm, and
Jack Bradbury each recorded two goals, while six other Kingsmen recorded one each.
After dropping their first three games of the season, the Kingsmen have won three of their last four, and will look to continue that momentum later today, 3 p.m. against Cal State Fullerton to wrap up the Mini Invitational.
