Keegan Corley was named SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week after leading the Regals to a 3-0 record in the Cal Lu Fornia Invitational at home this weekend. Cal Lutheran swept each of its matches to extend its winning streak to seven games.
The junior libero from Corona has been piling up counting stats all season, as she now sits at 5th in the nation in digs per set (6.27). In wins over Covenant, Linfield, and UC Santa Cruz, Corley contributed 54 total digs in nine sets.
Beyond the box score, Corley induces confidence in the back row and offers leadership as a team captain for a Regals team that has caught fire with seven consecutive wins, dropping just two sets.
Corley and Cal Lutheran will get a chance to rest before taking on Westcliff in a road exhibition match in Irvine. The following Friday night, September 26, the Regals begin conference play with a huge road test against CMS.
