THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The Kingsmen were victorious on senior day as they completed the comeback against the Pacific Boxers, 7-4.
Alec Garcia knocked in two runs while going 2/3, and
Ryan Farr went 2/4 with a run scored. Cal Lutheran's pitching staff was lights out as it allowed just two earned runs and recorded six strikeouts throughout the game.
Josh Quinn stole the show with a solo blast to left field to ignite the offense.
Pacific kicked off the game 3-0 in the first inning, but Cal Lutheran quickly chipped away at the deficit in the bottom-half of the inning when
Jona Dawson raced home on a wild pitch. The Boxers increased their lead back to three in the second.
From the fourth inning on, it was all Purple and Gold. Quinn lit a charge into the Kingsmen's bats with his home run in the bottom of the fourth to cut the score to 4-2.
Sebastian Smith brought Cal Lutheran within one with an RBI single up the middle.
The Kingsmen took the lead in the seventh with a two-run single from Garcia. Later in the inning,
Lucas Danielewicz laced a single to center that brought home Garcia. Farr scored on a wild pitch in the eighth to cap off the 7-4 win.
Cal Lutheran finished the regular season 27-13 overall and will now set its sights on the SCIAC Tournament. The Kingsmen will take on the Redlands Bulldogs at home in Game 1 on Wednesday, May 7 at 3:00 p.m.
