THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Five Regals found the back of the cage in their bounce-back win against the Caltech Beavers.
Jacqueline Brandon was dominant on the offensive end with six goals, as was
Bethany Metcalfe with four.
Katie Knight and
Reyna Clark both recorded hat tricks.
Sophie Raquel held down the fort in goal with 11 saves.
Knight opened the scoring in the first quarter tossing in four Regals' goals. Clark and Brandon each had one as Cal Lutheran led at the end of the quarter 5-2. Two more goals from Knight and another score from Clark gave the Regals an 8-2 advantage going into halftime.
Coming out of the break, the Purple & Gold poured on eight goals in the third. Metcalfe and Brandon were a deadly offensive duo and combined for seven goals in the period, with four and three goals, respectfully. The Regals were not finished as they poured on six more in the fourth.
The quarter featured two more goals from Brandon to cap off Cal Lutheran's 18-goal victory.
With the win, the Regals are now 2-2 in SCIAC play and will head to Pomona-Pitzer on Wednesday, March 19, at 4:00 p.m.
