Kingsmen Compete with Top-10, Division I Matadors

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's volleyball took on its second Division I opponent of the week, as they fell to No. 10 CSUN on Friday night, 18-25, 21-25, 20-25.

The loss brings the Kingsmen to 14-4 on the year, with two of their defeats being to Division I programs and one being to a top-20 Division III.

Ben Weber was all over the court, leading Cal Lutheran in the match with seven kills, six digs, and a solo block. Next in line was Borys Horiuk who tallied four kills, two digs, and a service ace.

All three Kingsmen setters got some action, with Nathan Diaz's career-high 11 assists at the forefront. Keaton Hendry and Gavin Galanski combined for another 10 to move the offense.

The Matadors recorded a hitting percentage of .296 compared to Cal Lu's .116, and they were dominant at the service line, out-acing the Kingsmen 14-5.

Cal Lutheran returns to Division III play and looks to rebound in a couple of weeks. The team will host Marian, North Park, and Illinois Tech for the Cal Lu Fornia Invitational on March 13-15.
