THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran baseball lost the first game of the doubleheader against George Fox but took a commanding victory in the second game of the day.

The Kingsmen jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the second inning due to an error from the Bruins.
Carlos Vega was able to touch home to put the Kingsmen on top.
Cal Lutheran led the way for most of the game thanks to an outstanding outing from pitcher J.J. Frazier. Frazier threw five innings while only allowing one hit and recording seven strikeouts.
The Bruins rallied in the eighth inning and took a 3-1 lead.
Alec Garcia drove in Liam Kiethly to cut the Bruins' lead to 3-2. George Fox responded with five more runs in the ninth inning to finish the game.

Cal Lutheran flipped the script in the second game by pouring nine unanswered runs on the Bruins.
The Purple & Gold came out hot and started the game with five runs in the first inning. Garcia kicked it off with another RBI single and two errors from the Bruins gifted the Kingsmen two additional runs for a 3-0 lead.
Eric Gonzalez picked up two RBI, scoring Vega and
Jona Dawson to cap off the five-run first.
In the fourth inning, the Kingsmen tacked on two more runs with a
Kai Caranto RBI single to center field and a fielder's choice from
Daniel Orozco. Vega added the exclamation point in the sixth inning with a two-run triple driving in Orozco and
Troy Anderson.
The Kingsmen pitching staff, featuring starter
Leo Bristow and
Frank Willius, held down the fort. Bristow pitched five innings, allowed three hits, and tallied eight strikeouts. Willius slammed the door by pitching the ninth inning and striking out all three Bruins he faced.
The Kingsmen won the series by taking two out of three games from the Bruins and moved to 2-1 to start the season. They will take on the Caltech Beavers at home on Friday, February 21st at 2:00 P.M.
