Kingsmen Rally Late to Draw Against Occidental

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's soccer (2-8-3, 1-4-3 SCIAC) took on Occidental (4-4-4, 2-2-3 SCIAC) at home on Wednesday evening, playing the Tigers to a 1-1 draw after late heroics from Kane Reese.

The Kingsmen faced a disciplined Occidental squad that capitalized on limited opportunities. Cal Lutheran found itself trailing 1-0 at the break.

With just over five minutes left in regulation, Reese delivered the equalizer that sent the crowd into a roar, leveling the score at 1–1 and shifting the momentum entirely in CLU's favor. Caleb Merrill was credited with the assist.

Cal Lutheran maintained pressure in the closing minutes, showcasing the fight and resilience that's defined their season. Though the game ended in a draw, the Kingsmen's late surge embodied their commitment to finishing strong down the stretch.

The Kingsmen displayed grit and determination, highlighted by a 17-9 shot advantage and a 6-3 advantage in saves, reflecting their relentless defensive effort.
