LA VERNE, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's soccer suffered its first conference loss as the Kingsmen fell to the La Verne Leopards 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. This result brings the Kingsmen to 1-1 in the SCIAC and 3-4-1 overall.
Gen Katashiba spent the full 90 minutes in goal for Cal Lutheran and collected seven saves. The Leopards scored in the 26th minute off a goal from Alexander Bastidas (assist by Adan Villarreal), and again in the 60th minute with Anthony Bastidas finding the back of the net.
La Verne out-shot Cal Lutheran 26-15. The Kingsmen had five shots on goal with

Maximo Schelotto, and
Kane Reese each getting chances.

Danny Rodriguez, and
JP Melgoza also contributed throughout the majority of the match.
Cal Lutheran looks to gain their winning momentum back on Wednesday evening. They will be facing Chapman University on the road at 4:00 PM.
