THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's lacrosse celebrated Senior Night on Wednesday as the Regals hosted the Redlands Bulldogs. The Bulldogs came out on top with a score of 21-11.

Before the game, the Regals honored Giselle Bonilla and Mia Deck. The duo is the first four-year student-athletes to come through the lacrosse program. 

The Regals took the early lead, jumping out to a 4-2 lead and then going up 7-4 with 2:13 left in the first quarter. Malina Diaz, Josie Oparanaku, and Sydney Shin all had two goals. The Bulldogs closed the gap quickly and tied the game at 7-7 with nine seconds left in the quarter. 

The Bulldogs kept the points coming in the second quarter. They outscored the Regals 6-1 and took a 13-8 lead at the half. Bonilla scored the lone goal of the quarter, a free-position shot. The defense picked up for both teams in the third quarter. The Regals scored one, with the Bulldogs scoring twice, as they trailed 15-9 with 15 minutes to play. The Bulldogs continued to roll in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Regals 6-2 and took the game.

Diaz led the way with four goals and Oparanaku and Shin both had two. Shin and Meghan Angus dished out two assists each. Diaz, Kaitlyn Gill, and Shin had three ground balls each and Diaz caused two turnovers. Shin added five ground balls and Angus, Diaz, and Madison Soforenko all had three. Bella Bravo was in goal and made eight saves. 

The Regals wrap up their regular season on Saturday. They are at Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday at 11 am.
