THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's tennis celebrated Senior Day on Saturday afternoon as they hosted the Caltech Beavers. It was a tight dual as the Beavers prevailed with a score of 5-4.
Before the match, the Regals honored their lone senior, Lauren Sebastian.
The Regals had the early lead after doubles play. Carmen Bufkin and Mina Ahmadi won 8-5 at the No. 1 spot and Maddy Ford and Kylee Limpais won 8-5 at the No. 2. The Beavers took the No. 3 spot as Sebastian and Luisa Garcia fell 5-8.
The Regals took two of the singles matches as Bufkin won 1-6, 7-6(7-4), 12-10 at the No. 1 and Anya Rajan won 6-3, 7-6(7-3) at the No. 6.
The Beavers took the other four singles matches and took the dual. Garcia fell 1-6, 2-6 at the No. 2, Ford fell 3-6, 0-6 at the No. 3, Fatima Nemi Revilla lost 3-6, 1-6 at the No. 4 and Kayla Kling fell 1-6, 0-6 at the No. 5.
The Regals have one final dual in the regular season. They host Redlands on Tuesday at 2 pm.
