LOS ANGELES — Cal Lutheran women's lacrosse fought and battled as they took on the Occidental Tigers on Saturday afternoon.

The Regals scored four goals in the first and second quarters, but the Tigers recorded eight and five, respectively. They continue to improve, threatening more SCIAC teams, and were down just 13-8 at the half. 

The Tigers opened up the second on a run. The Tigers outscored the Regals 5-1 in 10 minutes and doubled up the score at 18-9.  Occidental kept the points coming as they ran away with the game.

Malina Diaz led the way with four goals and Sydney Shin and Giselle Bonilla added two each. Diaz and Shin continued with an all-around game with three ground balls each. Shin added six draw controls and Madison Soforenko was next with three. 

The Regals have Senior Night for their next game. They are hosting Redlands at Oak Park High School on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
