CLAREMONT, Calif. — Newly ranked No. 47 Cal Lutheran women's tennis fell to No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday afternoon.
The Regals were ranked 47th in the most recent ITA poll.
It was a battle as the No. 1 team took all three doubles matches. Carmen Bufkin and Mina Ahmadi fell 2-8 at No. 1, Kylee Limpias and Maddy Ford were defeated 1-8 at No. 2, and Luisa Garcia and Kayle Kling fell 3-8 at No. 3.
The Regals worked hard to respond but the No. 1 Athenas were too much. In singles play, Bufkin fell 3-6, 2-6 at the No. 1, Garcia lost 0-6, 0-6 at No. 2, Ford fell 2-6, 1-6 at the No. 3, Fatima Nemi Revilla was defeated 1-6, 0-6 at No. 4, Kling fell 0-6, 1-6 at No. 5 and Limpias was defeated 6-4, 2-6, 3-10 at No. 6.
The Regals are back in action on Tuesday and are at Chapman for a dual at 2 pm.
