ORANGE, Calif. — Giselle Bonilla scored four goals as Cal Lutheran women's lacrosse took on Chapman on Wednesday night. The Panthers defeated the Regals with a score of 19-9.
The Regals are now 2-7 in conference and 4-10 overall. They continue to reset the record book with just three games left in the season.
Bonilla was a force with her four goals and five different Regals scored once. Sydney Shin and Malina Diaz both had one assist. Shin added three ground balls and caused turnovers while Meghan Angus had two ground balls and caused turnovers. Madison Soforenko led the way with six draw controls and Shin was next with four. Bella Bravo was in goals and made five saves.
The Panthers took an early lead as they outscored the Regals 6-1 in the first quarter. The Regals responded in the second and matched the Panthers with four goals, trailing 10-5 at the half. The Panthers responded with the third quarter being exactly like the first. They outscored the Regals 6-1 and were up 16-6 with 15 minutes to play. The Regals battled in the fourth but fell to the Panthers.
The Regals are back in action on Saturday and are at Occidental at 1 pm.
