LOS ANGELES — It was a back-and-forth contest as Cal Lutheran women's lacrosse battled Calvin University on Saturday morning at Occidental. The Knights had the final say as they defeated the Regals 14-12.

Sydney Shin led the way with four goals and Sydnee Hill, Josie Oparanaku, Meghan Angus, and Madison Soforenko had two each. Bella Bravo had the most ground balls and Malina Diaz did so in draw controls with six each. Angus and Shin both had two caused turnovers. 

It was a closely contested game throughout the four quarters. The Regals scored first and had a 3-2 lead after the first. Calvin answered in the second, outscoring the Regals 5-4 and tying up the game at the half. 

In the third quarter, Shin scored back-to-back goals to give the Regals an 11-8 lead. The Knights fired back with four straight goals and took the lead. Angus tied the game at 12 with 8:17 left in the fourth, but that would be the final goal for the Regals. The Knights scored the final two goals and stole the game. 

The Regals return to action next Saturday. They are at Redlands on March 16 with the game starting at 1 pm.
