LOS ANGELES — Cal Lutheran women's lacrosse was on the road and was defeated by Occidental 20-5 on Wednesday night.
With the loss, the Regals dropped to 2-3 and 1-3 in conference play.
Madison Soforenko led the way with two goals and Meghan Angus, Malina Diaz, and Josie Oparanaku each had one. Sydney Shin collected five ground balls and Diaz was next with four.
Shin and Diaz continued to show an all-around game as they tied for the game-high in caused turnovers with four. Shin had the most draw controls with three.
The Tigers jumped all over the Regals and went up 6-1 after the first quarter. The Tigers outscored the Regals in the second quarter 7-0 and took a commanding 13-1 lead at the half. The Tigers cruised through the second half and defeated the Regals.
The Regals continue the season with non-conference play. They play a neutral game on Friday against Calvin at Occidental at 11 am.
