THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's lacrosse outscored Marian 8-0 in the third quarter as the Regals rolled to an 18-12 win on Saturday afternoon.
The Regals won back-to-back games for the first time in program history and are now 2-2 overall.
"I'm excited to see our team work together and have success as a unit.," Head Coach Laura McIntyre said. "They were awesome this week on all sides of the ball and I couldn't be more proud of them."
Sydney Shin led the way with six goals, Madison Soforenko had four, and Josie Oparanaku and Giselle Bonilla had three each. Soforenko added three assists and Shin had two.
Malina Diaz led the defense with four ground balls and Soforenko and Shin both had three. Diaz, Shin, and Oparanaku had three caused turnovers. Meghan Angus dominated with nine draw controls.
The first half went back and forth with Marian up 5-4 after the first and 9-6 at the half. The Regals came out on fire in the second half and outscored the Sabres 8-0 in the third quarter and took a commanding lead. They never looked back and won their second straight game.
The Regals are back in action on Wednesday. They are at Occidental at 5 pm.
