THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's tennis put up a fight but ultimately fell to Colorado College 6-3 on Sunday afternoon.
The Kingsmen were down 2-1 after singles with Ethan Sherwood and Loup Sudre winning 8-5 in the No. 1 spot. The Kingsmen dropped the other two as Andy Ai and James Troung fell 7-8 (1-7) at the No. 2 and Raphael Simon and Jakob Buhler were defeated 1-8 at the No. 3.
The Kingsmen won two singles matches and three went to three sets. Simon won 6-3, 5-7, 10-6 at the No. 4 and Truong was victorious 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 6. Ai was at the No. 2 and fell 6-3, 3-6, 2-6.
The Kingsmen fell in the other three singles spots as Sherwood was defeated 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 at the No. 1, Sudre fell 4-6, 3-6 at the No. 3, and Jake Anderson fell 1-6, 5-7 at the No. 5.
The Kingsmen return to action on Thursday as they host UC Santa Cruz at 2 pm.
