Kingsmen Cruise to 10-0 Shutout Versus Macalester

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Five Kingsmen pitchers combined for a shutout to lift Cal Lutheran baseball to a 10-0 (F/7) win against Macalester at Sparky Anderson Field on Sunday afternoon. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
It was a bullpen game for the Kingsmen (5-1, 2-1 SCIAC) as first-year starting pitcher Colten Hanson (1-0) got the decision, going 2.2 innings while striking out two. Kyle Johnson, Carson Stanfield, Milan Bugarin, and Frank Willius all threw shutout innings in relief. 

Troy Anderson's RBI double and an RBI single by Ryan Farr gave the Kingsmen a quick 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second. 

After tacking on one more in the third inning, the Kingsmen batted around the lineup and scored six runs on eight hits in the fourth. Ethan Dungo, Blake Wink, Gordon Richardson, Lucas Danielewicz, and Anderson all had RBIs. 
THE NUMBERS
·       Eight of the nine Kingsmen hitters in the starting lineup recorded a hit, with Anderson, Smith, Farr, and Dungo having multi-hit games 
·       Smith, who led off the big fourth inning, recorded both of his hits in the same inning 
·       Danielewicz drove in three runs today for a total of 12 RBIs so far this season, a team-high 
·       Hanson: 2.2 IP, three hits, two walks, two K's
·       Johnson: 1.1 IP, one hit, one K
·       Stanfield: 1.0 IP, one hit, one walk, one K
·       Bugarin: 1.0 IP, one K
·       Willius: 1.0 IP, one hit, two K's

UP NEXT The Kingsmen will host game one of their three-game series against Whittier (2-4-1, 1-2 SCIAC) on Friday, March 1 at 2:30 p.m.
