THOUSAND OAKS, Calif — Starting pitcher Luke Wechsler gave a quality start, but the Kingsmen offense could only muster one run as Cal Lutheran baseball fell 3-1 to Whittier in game 1 of their three-game set on Friday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Wechsler (1-2) took the decision loss but was solid through 6.1 innings, working his way out of jams all games to keep the Kingsmen within reach the whole way.
The Kingsmen scored their lone run thanks to a solo home run by Troy Anderson, his first of the year.
The team had opportunities to add on as they left eight runners on base in the game. In the bottom of the fourth, Lucas Danielewicz walked followed by back-to-back singles by Anderson and Alec Garcia to load the bases with one out, but the Kingsmen couldn't get any production.
