SALEM, Ore. — Cal Lutheran men's tennis won its second straight dual to start the season as they took care of the Willamette Bearcats 7-2 on Saturday night.
The Kingsmen continued their road trip by dominating their NWC opponents. They face five NWC opponents in four days.
The Kingsmen took two of the three doubles matches and were up early. Ethan Sherwood and Raphael Simon won 8-4 in the No. 2 spot and Jake Anderson and Frederick Otto were victorious 8-7 (7-1) at the No. 3. In the No. 1 spot, Andy Ai and James Truong fell 6-8.
The Kingsmen kept battling in singles play and won five of the six singles matches. Ai won 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 at the No. 1, Sherwood was victorious 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 2, Truong won 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 4, Jakob Buhler won 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 5, and Otto was victorious 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 6. Anderson battled but fell 5-7, 6-4, 4-10 at the No. 3.
The Kingsmen continue their road trip on Sunday and are at Linfield at 10 am.
