TACOMA, Wash. — Cal Lutheran women's tennis started their Northwest Conference road trip by sweeping Puget Sound 9-0 on Friday afternoon.
The Regals are taking on five NWC teams over four days. Next up, they are at Pacific (Ore.) on Saturday at 9 am.
The Regals opened the dual by sweeping doubles play. Carmen Bufkin and Mina Ahmadi won 8-1 at the No. 1, Anya Rajan and Fatima Nemi Revilla were victorious 8-2 at the No. 2, and Kayla Kling and Gerda Jucys dominated their opponent 8-0 at the No. 3.
The doubles sweep continued into a complete sweep of the dual as the Regals won all six individual matches. Bufkin and Luisa Garcia swept their opponents 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 and 2 spots, respectively. Maddy Ford won 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 3, Ahmadi claimed the No. 4 spot with a score of 6-4, 6-2, Kylee Limpias won 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 5, and Kayla Kling took the No. 6 spot 6-0, 6-1.
