BLOOMINGTON, IL - Cal Lutheran men's basketball will leave Bloomington in the win column, defeating #9 Calvin University 81-71 on Saturday afternoon.
It was the
Jake Martin show today, with the senior putting up 26 points. He shot 8-12 from the field and a stellar 7-10 from behind the three-point arc.
Senior
Devon Lewis had a second straight strong game, with 20 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists.
The Cal Lu bench also played a key role in the win, contributing 35 points as opposed to Calvin's 16.
After a shaky shooting game yesterday, the Kingsmen came out firing today, shooting 42% from the field and 47% from three.
Cal Lutheran also continued its strong free throw performance from yesterday, going 20-26, including a perfect 11-11 in the first half.
The Kingsmen will fly back to Thousand Oaks and have a week off before taking on Concordia University Irvine in an exhibition game next Saturday, November 16. Their home opener will come the following Thursday, November 21st as they take on Whitworth University in Gilbert Arena.
