ESTACADA, Oregon – Cal Lutheran women's cross country runner Summer Gelman was named All-West Region, officially announced by the NCAA on Saturday. 

Gelman, the junior from Agoura, California, led the Regals through their final 6k race of the year at the NCAA Division III West Regionals this past weekend. She finished 20th with a lifetime personal best of 21 minutes and 55 seconds, earning her the All-Region honor. She is the first Regal to receive the award since 2019.

Gelman made her mark on Cal Lutheran during her junior season, being named First Team All-SCIAC and collecting one conference Athlete of the Week award prior to competing at regionals. She has also been the first Regal to cross the finish line in every single race this year.
