CLAREMONT, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's water polo wrapped up the Inland Empire Classic with two tough, Division I opponents. The Kingsmen fell to UC Santa Barbara 17-7 and UCLA 21-6 on Sunday afternoon.
"We played some tough competition this weekend," said head coach
John Jacobson. "Our team learned a lot and showed great resiliency and determination with their play. We had a great team effort all around. It was a productive weekend for the Kingsmen."

The Kingsmen put the Division I team to the test in the first half and only trailed 7-5 at the break.
Bo DuBois,
Daniel Johnson, and
Adam Scrivner all saw action in goal. DuBois tallied a team-high six saves.
On the offensive side,
Luke Matthies recorded a hat trick and
Cormac Flanders,
Zane Hermann,
Nic Mastropoalo, and
Adam Dow scored one goal each.
Cal Lutheran 6, UCLA 21
Hermann and Lincoln scored two goals each against the Division I opponent.
Levi Cook and
Zachary Isaac added a goal and Dow tallied two assists.
DuBois,
Jack Germann, and Scrivner all saw action in goal. DuBois made seven saves, with two steals, and Scrivner had two saves.
The Kingsmen get nearly two weeks off before their next competition. Cal Lutheran will jump into conference play on Sept. 23 with Caltech at 11 a.m.
