Kingsmen Roll Past UT Dallas for Fourth Straight Win

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Five Kingsmen scored in double-figures as Cal Lutheran men's basketball rolled past UT Dallas 86-68 on Friday afternoon. 

Patrick Renane led the way 17 while shooting an efficient 7-12. Devon Lewis was next with 15 points and Brock Susko had 12. Stephen Davis and Ze'ev Remer added 10 points each. Five more Kingsmen scored as it was an all-around team win. 

"Great team win against a quality opponent on a back-to-back," head coach Russell White said. "Time to get ready for SCIAC."

The Kingsmen recorded 23 assists on their 31 shots and only committed seven turnovers. Davis and Riley O'Connor both had five assists while Remer had four more. Davis also led the way with three steals and Lewis, Tommy Griffitts, and Desi Burrage had two each. 

The Kingsmen won nearly every single statistical battle scoring 28 to 12 in points off turnovers, 34 to 24 in the paint, 17 to 14 on second chance, and 17 to 6 in the fast break. The Comets had the advantage in bench points 31 to 27. 

The Kingsmen scored 40-plus points each half and led for 38:55 as they dominated the game. They were up 41-29 after the first half and weathered a Comet comeback in the second to earn a hard-fought victory.

The Kingsmen get back into conference play and host Occidental on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
