THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Alline Ballard and Aliya DiMuro recorded a double-double as Cal Lutheran women's basketball took down La Sierra 76-60 on Thursday night.
Ballard was dominant, posting 21 points and 16 rebounds, her highest point and rebound total of the season. DiMuro was next with 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Grace Godines also broke double-figure scoring with 14 points.
The Golden Eagles opened up the game with a 9-2 run, but after that, the Regals outscored them 25-13 through the rest of the first and second quarters en route to a 27-22 lead going into halftime.
After the break, the Regals pulled away thanks to a big third quarter. They outscored the Golden Eagles 31-17 on 75% shooting (12-16) and went 4-6 from three.
The Regals enjoyed a 19-point cushion as they began the fourth quarter up 58-39, and kept the Golden Eagles at bay to walk away with the victory.
With the result, the Regals have won five out of their last six games. They remain home for their last game of the calendar year against St. Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 3 p.m.
