REDLANDS, Calif — Chris Pelaez and Brendan Stafford scored in the second half, but it wasn't enough as the Kingsmen were defeated 4-2 by Redlands on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs opened the game with two goals in the first half. The Kingsmen started a rally as Pelaez and Cal Lutheran got on board in the 52nd minute. The Bulldogs answered with two more goals and took a big lead. The Kingsmen scored one more goal as Stafford in the 84th minute. It was the first goal of the year for both.
The game was very even with Redlands holding a slight advantage on shots with 14 to 12. Both teams had five shots on goal as the scoring gates were open. Stafford had two shots on goal and Santiago Rivas, Pelaez, and Bruno Mostajo Torres all had one.
The Kingsmen are now 3-1-3 in conference and 5-2-4 overall. They continue the season on the road and are at Pomona-Pitzer on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
