Kingsmen Draw Sagehens on the Road; Scott Records Goal and Assist

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif — Cal Lutheran men's soccer scored the first goal of the game and the equalizer as it drew Pomona-Pitzer 2-2 on Wednesday afternoon.

Max Scott scored the game's first goal in the 44th minute and was assisted by Samir Lumba. It came right before the half and the Kingsmen took a lead into the break.

The Sagehens fired back and scored goals in the 52nd and 70th minute. The Kingsmen did not stay behind for long as Kane Reese scored the equalizer in the 74th minute. Scott assisted him as he contributed to both goals.

After the dust settled, the teams walked off the pitch with a tie. The Kingsmen outshot the Sagehens 17-10 but only had a slight advantage in shots on goal with 8-6.

Davis Sharts was in goal and made two saves. Kane, Bruno Mostajo Torres, and Scott led the offense with two shots on goal each, and JP Melgoza and Joel Wollin added one.

The Kingsmen (5-2-5, 3-1-4) look to get back in the win column as they host non-conference opponent UC Santa Cruz on Saturday for Senior Day at 6 p.m.
