WHITTIER, Calif. — Down a point after doubles play, the Cal Lutheran Regals completed the comeback and edged out the Whittier Poets 5-4 in their final regular season game.

Christie Kurdys and Gianna Cupo led the way during doubles, earning the 8-6 victory on court one. Though, they fought valiantly, Annette Sousa and Nicole Neumann fell on court two 8-1, and Jade Moore and Marissa Souza fell on court three 8-5. 

Behind 2-1 in points heading after doubles play, The Regals took four of the six single matches to take the one-point victory. 

On court three, Sousa took the first win of singles to even the score (6-2, 6-2). Neumann followed it up with a point of her own with a 6-1, 6-2 win on court four. Kurdys followed closely behind with a win on court one (6-3, 6-0) and Souza clinched the victory with a 6-1, 6-4 win on court six. 

Though the regular season is over, the Regals will head into the postseason on April 26-29 with the Division III West Regional Individual Championships.
