ORANGE, Calif. - The Cal Lutheran women's soccer team continued Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play this Wednesday against Chapman. After a quiet first half for both teams, the Regals came out strong in the second half and finished the match with a 2-0 win.
Highlights: Sarah Tadeusiak scored her first career goal for the Regals to give them the lead in the 49th minute, off of an assist from Riley Martin, her first on the season. Bri Pinal tacked on another for CLU in the 82nd minute on a deep shot into the upper right corner to help seal the victory. Cal Lutheran finished the match with 12 shots total with seven of them coming on goal. Shots on goal also came from Ryley Settles, Katelyn Kimball and Kali Youngdahl. Coral Hasley finished with two saves in goal. This shutout marks her third on the season.
The Opponent: Chapman finished the match with eight shots total, three of them on target. Lindsay Erl, Katie Bell and Faith Holloway each had one shot on goal. Kristin Kleinow was in goal for the Panthers and tallied five saves on the day.
Cal Lutheran (6-1, 2-1 SCIAC) will be back in action this Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7:00 p.m. in a home match against No. 24 Pomona-Pitzer (4-1-1).
