REDLANDS, Calif. - In its first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) road match of the season, the Cal Lutheran women's tennis team had its six-game win streak snapped at the hands of No. 21 Redlands with a 7-2 loss on Friday afternoon.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after doubles action, and picked up wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 5, and No. 6 singles to clinch the victory.
Emily Werman helped the Regals get on the board with a trying 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-8 battle at No. 3 singles and Christie Kurdys swept past her opponent at No. 4 with a 6-4, 6-1 result to provide the lone wins on the day for the Violet and Gold.
Cal Lutheran (9-3, 1-2 SCIAC) will stay on the road for a conference match against Occidental next Saturday, Apr. 9 at 10 a.m.
