PASADENA, Calif. - Tonight on the road the No. 6 Cal Lutheran women's volleyball team concluded the first round of Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play with a 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-8) win over Caltech at the Braun Gymnasium.
Offensive Highlights: The Regals were led by freshman Amanda Roberts as the only player to reach double figures with a match-high 12 kills, more than the entire CIT team combined. Pua Mo'okini-Oliveira was next with seven and Dianna Rohrer came off the bench for six in eight attempts for a .750 hitting average and Hope Stewart notched six as well. Jamie Smith handed out 20 assists in two games and Mikayla Dobson finished with 10. Molly Holloway recorded three service aces while Dani Gonzalez added a pair.
Defensive Highlights: In just one game, Allie Eason was credited with the lone solo block of the night for CLU and she teamed up with Sarah Pappas for a block assist as well. A dozen players contributed at least one dig and Mo'okini-Oliveira paced the field with eight.
Notables: Overall, 16 of the 17 Regals on the roster played. CLU stretched its win-streak to nine matches. The Regals have now come out victorious in 22 consecutive games. Tonight was the conclusion of the first round of SCIAC action for 2015.
Next Up: Cal Lutheran (18-2, 8-0) and Caltech meet again on Tuesday, Oct. 13 when the Beavers travel to Thousand Oaks for a 7:30 p.m. first serve at the Gilbert Arena.
