ORANGE, Calif. - After battling to a scoreless first half, Chapman broke through for seven second half goals on its way to a 7-0 defeat over the Cal Lutheran men's soccer team on Monday night at Wilson Field.
Offensive Highlights: Conference leading scorer Brandon Kearney got the first shot off for the Violet and Gold in the third minute of the game. Max Sharpe, Charlie Villa-Lovos, Pedro Zaccarelli and Adrian Olais also tallied a shot apiece in the game.
Defensive Highlights: Goalkeeper Peter Wilder tallied five saves in 90 minutes in front of the net for CLU.
The Opponent: Chapman exploded for seven goals in the second half with the trio of Marco Saglimbeni, Boston Kimmel and Daniel Malikyar each scoring two goals apiece. Elliot Braund also added a goal for the Panthers and Saglimbeni led the way with two assists. Chapman outshot CLU 28-5 and held an 8-0 advantage on corner kicks.
Next Up: Cal Lutheran (2-10-2, 2-8-1 SCIAC) will return home to Rolland Stadium for a matchup against La Verne this Saturday, Oct. 17 at 5:00 p.m.
