Regals Record Road Win

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Playing on the road for the first time of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) season, the Cal Lutheran women's basketball team exited the Voelkel Gymnasium victorious against Pomona-Pitzer by a 67-59 margin.

CLU outscored PP by four points in each half to earn the win on Saturday afternoon.

Hot three-point shooting was paced by Jessica Salottolo who finished 5-for-8 from behind the arc to tally a team-leading 21 points. She added five rebounds, an assist and a steal as well. Katy Lindor was dually effective tonight, recording a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double. Additionally, Chelsea Jacoby and Taylor Messick reached double figures with 14 points and 12 rebounds, respectively.

Defensively, Jacoby was a menace with five steals, five rebounds and the only block of the day for the Violet and Gold. Trianna Owen and Natalie Stone each nabbed three steals in the victory.

Pomona-Pitzer (2-10, 1-2 SCIAC) was paced by Basha Brulee-Wills who scored a game-high 23 points with a team-leading 11 rebounds for a double-double showing. Amelia Hummel chipped in with 12 points, adding five rebounds, three steals and three blocks while McKenna VanderKley came off the bench for 11 points in the loss.

Cal Lutheran (8-4, 3-0) is on the road again Wednesday, Jan. 14 when the Regals travel to Caltech for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off at the Braun Athletics Center.
