THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The Cal Lutheran men's soccer team returned to Rolland Stadium tonight where they continued their winning ways. After picking up their first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) win of the season last Wednesday, the Kingsmen came home to repeat the feat with a 4-0 victory over Caltech this evening.

After a slow start on both sides that saw just six combined shots in the first 29 minutes, during the 30th minute Cal Lutheran senior Raul Yepez put the Kingsmen on top 1-0 with the ultimate game-winner. Midfielder Danny Kuntz set the ball to Yepez who dribbled past a pair of Caltech defenders, finishing off the play with a goal.

A trio of players came in with fresh legs in final two minutes of the half and though they earned their second corner kick of the game, the score remained the same with the Kingsmen leading 1-0 as the intermission arrived.

After the break, in the 56th minute, Yepez and Kuntz teamed up again in the. Tyler Pasco passed a ball from mid field to Yepez, who drew a foul within 10 yards of the goal, earning CLU a free kick. Kuntz went on to convert the opportunity into the second Cal Lutheran goal of the game as the ball rattled off the crossbar and behind the goalie, bouncing in for the score.

With the game nearly locked up as time wound down, CLU added a pair with Yepez scoring his second of the game at the 86:34 mark before Kyle Fleming who fired off five total shots in the game, finally found the back of the net, on an assist from Pedro Guillen.

CLU finished with 19 shots, Yepez taking six and Fleming taking five.

Goalkeeper Rey Rivera-Ramos, who recorded just one save on five Caltech shots, played all 90 minutes as did Ivan Sanchez, Peter Keks, Thiago Gaglianone and Alex Wardle.

Cal Lutheran (4-2, 2-1 SCIAC) will be on the road this weekend as they travel up to Santa Cruz to play the UCSC Banana Slugs on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 4:00 p.m. in their final non-conference match of the season.
