THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's lacrosse fell to the Chapman Panthers 24-14 on Saturday afternoon, despite an offensive performance that saw them score their second most goals in a game this season.
Josie Oparanaku matched a Chapman goal to even the score at 1 early, while
Peyton Richardson and
Sydnee Hill also logged goals in the first period.
Oparanaku notched a pair of goals in the second period while Richardson and Hill each noticed one to head into half down 13-7.
Madison Soforenko was the team's offense in the third period, scoring all three Regal goals consecutively.
Hill notched a pair of goals in the fourth period, with Hill and
Nicki-Jean Henderson each adding to the Regal total as well.
Hill and Oparanaku each finished the day with four goals apiece, while Soforenko added three more and Richardson had two, her second multi-goal game of the season. Senior captain
Sydney Shin acted as the team's field general, notching four assists.
Goalkeeper
Bella Bravo played all 60 minutes, out-saving Chapman 11-5 in the loss.
The Regals will look to bounce back as they host Oxy and celebrate the team's six seniors for Senior Day on Saturday, April 25.
