THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran softball mercy-ruled its fifth opponent of the season on Tuesday afternoon, defeating Carleton College in game one of the doubleheader before falling in game two to settle for a split.
The Regals now sit at 12-3 overall and 4-1 conference play, marking the best start for the program in almost 30 years.

A 1-2-3 inning from Ashlyn Flinhum (4-1) got the Regals back into the dugout for the second, where they would pile on 5 more runs on four hits.
Cal Lutheran allowed Carleton to score just one run over the five innings, as Flinchum struck out five through three innings of work.
