REDLANDS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran women's lacrosse took on the Redlands Bulldogs in a SCIAC matchup that ended in a 7-17 CLU loss. Three different Regals scored two goals including
Sydnee Hill,
Josie Oparanaku, and
Malina Diaz, while
Bella Bravo tallied 11 saves.
Diaz kicked off the scoring for the Regals four minutes into the game to give Cal Lutheran a 1-0 lead. The Bulldogs responded with two goals at the end of the quarter as the Regals trailed 1-2. At the start of the second, Redlands found the back of the net twice, but Oparanaku slotted in a shot to cut the deficit in half, keeping the Regals in the game. Two additional goals from the Bulldogs closed out the half with Cal Lutheran down 2-6.
Redlands opened the second half with three goals, but the Regals were able to respond with three unanswered goals of their own to keep the game within reach, 5-9. Hill had two of those goals as the Regals held the momentum. Cal Lutheran's comeback attempt was halted as the Regals closed the game out scoring two goals to the Bulldogs eight.

The Regals will look to bounce back when they play #10 Pomona-Pitzer at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 1 at home.
