PASADENA, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's basketball ended its 2024-25 season on a high note, taking down Caltech 80-50 on Saturday afternoon.
The win clinches the SCIAC regular season title for the Kingsmen, their second straight. The conference tournament will run through Gilbert Arena.
The Kingsmen (21-4, 14-2) would come out firing, with Devon Lewis matching a Beavers three with two of his own in a 15-second stretch.
The Kingsmen found themselves up just one going into a media timeout at about the 11-minute mark. They would come back from the break with a fire, ripping off 12-straight points. Cal Lu would lead by double digits for the rest of the contest.
The contest saw senior Ryan Hoffman set new career-highs in points and minutes, with 10 and 18, respectively.
"Saw everybody play significant minutes which is always nice. I saw lots of hard work come to fruition," Head Coach Russell White said.
Cal Lutheran finishes the year as the SCIAC leaders in three-pointers made, three-point percentage, and free-throw percentage.
The Kingsmen end the season with a record of 21-4, going 14-2 in SCIAC play. They would go 12-1 in Gilbert Arena, losing just their home opener.
The SCIAC tournament is set to begin on Wednesday, Feb. 26, as the Kingsmen will await results of the rest of the conference to determine seeding and matchup.
