MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Cal Lutheran men's volleyball defeated Milwaukee School of Engineering in four sets and swept UW-Stevens Point on Sunday afternoon to return home from Wisconsin unbeaten.
NO. 8 CAL LUTHERAN 3, MSOE 1
After a day off on Saturday, the Kingsmen achieved their third win of the week over the Raiders, defeating them 25-18, 26-28, 25-18, 25-22.
Jordan Cooper led the offense with 15 kills (.250 pct), while also adding two assists, four blocks, five digs, and a service ace.
Michael Stahl and
Ben Weber both double-doubled, combining for 25 kills and 27 digs, and
Borys Horiuk posted a season-high seven blocks.
Cal Lutheran breezed through the first set, beginning with back-to-back points from Stahl and ending with a kill from
Parker Brown in the middle.
Brown opened up set two with another kill, but MSOE didn't let up. Cooper extended the set with a kill at the Raider's first match point, but two-straight kills from MSOE would end the set and tie the game at 1-1.
The Kingsmen bounced back quickly, gaining two substantial leads in the third and fourth sets and riding them out to win the match 3-1.
NO. 8 CAL LUTHERAN 3, UW-STEVENS POINT
In their second match of the day, Cal Lutheran swept UW-Stevens Point 25-22, 26-24, 25-14.
Connor Crawford recorded his first career double-double with a team-leading 11 kills and a career-best 13 digs.
Matthew Wilcox led in blocks with five and Braden Gonzalez collected 16 digs.
While being even at 39 kills a piece, the Kingsmen capitalized on the errors made by the Pointers, holding them to a -.059 attack percentage in the final set. Cal Lutheran also out-blocked its opponent 11-6.

The Kingsmen will return to the West Coast and enjoy a week off before returning to the court. They will head to UC Santa Barbara on Tuesday, February 25 at 6 PM.
