Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Holley, Ballard Lead Regals to Another 20+ Point Victory over Willamette

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran women's basketball (9-0, 2-0 SCIAC) defeated Willamette (3-7, 0-1 NWC) at home on Friday morning by a score of 67-46. The Regals dominated in the paint en route to their seventh 20-point win of the 2025-26 season. Janna Holley and Alline Ballard led the way with standout performances.

Early in the game, Cal Lutheran had trouble putting the ball in the basket. Willamette took advantage with some hot shooting from beyond the arc, hitting five threes in the first quarter to open a 15-8 lead with 45 seconds remaining in the opening period. Holley responded with an and-one and an assist to Kaiya Mack, cutting the Regals' deficit to 15-13 heading into the second quarter.

The Bearcats connected on another three-pointer to take a 22-19 lead midway through the second period. Cal Lutheran hit another gear over the remainder of the half, kickstarted by Natalie Villamor's three, the Regals' only made three-pointer of the game. A smooth turnaround jumper from Sydney Heyn extended Cal Lutheran's lead to 33-26 entering the break.

Willamette never got closer than that for the remainder of the game, and a 16-0 Cal Lutheran run to start the fourth quarter ended any hopes of a Bearcats comeback. The Regals comfortably won, 67-46.

Holley dropped season-highs of 19 points (7/12 FG, 5/5 FT) and nine rebounds, adding five assists and four steals in an all-around dominant performance. Ballard recorded her sixth-straight double-double with 18 points and 12 boards.

Mack added 10 points and three steals, consistently putting pressure on Willamette's defense by attacking the basket.

Cal Lutheran returns to action today at 2pm when it hosts St. Scholastica.
