Four Regals Named to All-Region Teams, Three Land on First Team

United Soccer Coaches announced its NCAA Division III Women's All-Region Teams, and four Cal Lutheran players were honored. Tessa French, Olivia Suarez, and Anna Evenson made appearances on the First Team, and Stephenie Hackett was named to the Third Team. All four players were named First Team All-SCIAC earlier this year.

French, a senior defender from Lake Oswego, Oregon, has played the past two seasons for Cal Lutheran after transferring from Division-I Boise State. She started all 23 games this year and logged the second-most minutes (1879) on her team. French led the Regals defense to 11 shutouts this season while scoring four goals on offense. Cal Lutheran went 4-0 in the games in which French scored, including the NCAA Tournament Round of 64 against McMurry.

Coming off a Third Team All-Region 2024 season, Suarez reached another gear during her senior year. She scored a team-high six goals and added three assists, giving her a share of the team lead with 15 points. The midfielder from Stevenson Ranch started in all 23 games for Cal Lutheran this season, earning back-to-back All-Region nods.

A forward from San Diego, Evenson's speed was on display all season for the Regals, as she found ways to create her own shot while often setting up great looks for her teammates. She comfortably led the Regals in assists with seven and added four goals, tying her with Suarez for the team lead with 15 points. Evenson started in all 22 of the games she appeared in this fall, and she recorded an assist in each of Cal Lutheran's NCAA Tournament victories against McMurry and Trinity.

In her first collegiate season, Hackett quickly became a key contributor for the Regals. Hailing from Las Vegas, the midfielder started 20 of the 21 games she has appeared in this fall. She scored four goals, including a score in Cal Lutheran's NCAA Tournament Round of 64 win against McMurry. Against some of the top competition across the nation, Hackett stood out among freshmen and was named to the Third Team.

This quartet of Regals marks the third year in a row that Cal Lutheran had at least four players named to the All-Region Teams. 2023 was the last time that three Regals made the First Team.
