Farley Scores Three Touchdowns, Kingsmen Clinch SCIAC Title Berth Despite Loss to Pomona-Pitzer

CLAREMONT, Calif. – Cal Lutheran football (6-3, 4-3 SCIAC) dropped its 2025 season finale, falling to Pomona-Pitzer (4-5, 3-4 SCIAC) 28-18 on Saturday evening despite a trio of touchdowns from quarterback Joe Farley and new season-highs from receiver Tyler Woodworth

After a scoreless first quarter for both sides that included a recovered fumble by senior cornerback AJ Townsend, a tough second quarter for the Kingsmen sent the contest into the break 21-0 in the Sagehens' favor.

After Pomona-Pitzer struck first in the third quarter, Farley took it in himself from four yards out to get the Kingsmen on the board, sending the game to the fourth quarter down 28-6.

Cal Lutheran only had two possessions in the fourth quarter, both resulting in 70+ touchdown drives; first via a QB sneak from Farley and the second a 39-yard bomb to Woodworth.

Despite scoring touchdowns on its final three drives and shutting out the Sagehens in the fourth, the early deficit ultimately proved too much for the Kingsmen to overcome.

Farley accounted for all three of Cal Lutheran's touchdowns, one through the air and two on the ground, his third three-touchdown game of the season.

Woodworth's 8 receptions and 130 receiving yards are both season highs.

Drew Nees continued his spectacular sophomore season with a season-high 11 tackles, including two for a loss.

Cal Lutheran finishes the regular season 6-3 and 4-3 in SCIAC play. It's the Kingsmen's first 6 win season since 2021 and its second since 2012.

Cal Lutheran will travel to Orange to face Chapman on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. in the SCIAC Championship game. This is the Kingsmens' first Championship game appearance since the squad won four straight SCIAC titles from 2009-12.
