RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's soccer (2-11-5, 1-6-5) dropped its 2025 season finale to Division-I Cal Baptist (10-3-3, 4-2-1 WAC) 7-1 on Thursday evening.
The contest was a late addition to the schedule, not coming to fruition until recently as the Lancers needed a game before their conference tournament.
It was a relatively quiet first half for both squads, although Cal Baptist bookended with a pair of goals to go into the break up 2-0.
The Kingsmen struck about ten minutes into the second half, as freshman and recently-named SCIAC Newcomer of the Year
Shaw Nishizawa found the net for the second goal of his collegiate career.
Goalkeeper
Anthony Sound grabbed 8 saves in the net while
Maximo Schelotto logged the Kingsmen's lone assist, while midfielders
Danny Rodriguez and
Brendan Stafford recorded Cal Lutheran's other shots-on-goal.
