SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – No. 3 Cal Lutheran men's volleyball squashed the four-game win streak of No. 15 UC Santa Cruz, defeating the Banana Slugs 25-27, 26-24, 25-19, 28-26 on Friday night.
Michael Stahl led the way with a 19-kill, 10-dig double-double, for a .395 hitting percentage.
Jordan Cooper was next with 16 kills (.282 pct), six digs, four blocks and two service aces.
Ben Weber also shined with 15 kills (.256 pct), four digs, and an assist, while
Parker Brown collected eight kills, six digs, four blocks, and two aces.
After the Slugs stole set one, the Kingsmen were able to spark their momentum and take the next three sets of the closely contested match for their first top 20 victory of the season.
Tonight was just the beginning for Cal Lutheran as the Slug Slam lineup remains a beast. The Kingsmen will take on No. 16 Dominican and RV SUNY New Paltz tomorrow at 12 PM and 3 PM.
