THOUSAND OAKS, CA – Cal Lutheran women's soccer bested La Verne, securing the 1-0 victory on Friday night.
The Regals continued their hot start, advancing to 4-0-3 on the season. Beating the Leopards is nothing new for the Regals, who are now 10-0-1 in their last 11 matchups and 41-7-2 against La Verne all time. Cal Lutheran had more corners, fewer fouls, more saves, and fewer shots faced.
The game was relatively quiet until freshman forward
Jenna Kasarda buried her first collegiate goal in the 68th minute for the game's first and only goal. Junior
Ashley Escamilla had the assist.
This marked the fourth straight game the Regals haven't allowed a goal, going 2-0-2 in that span.
Junior goalkeeper
Kelsey Slaugh saved 7 of the Leopards' 10 shots in her return to the pitch after injury kept her sidelined for the first six games.
The Regals will look to continue their hot start to the season against Chapman at home on Wednesday, September 25 at 7 PM.
