SALEM, Ore. – For the second game in a row, neither team could find a score as Cal Lutheran women's soccer played a defensive game on the road, ending in a 0-0 draw against Willamette Saturday afternoon.
The Regals (2-0-3) applied pressure throughout the game, firing a total of 20 shots with seven on goal. The Bearcats(1-1-2) managed 13 shots, with three stopped by goalkeeper Kira Kasarda.
The Regals dominated possession and came close to scoring on multiple occasions. Avery West led the offensive push with three shots on goal. Nevaeh Rascon also contributed with two shots on target.
Defensively, the Regals remained solid, with West and Tessa French giving 90-minute contributions and Kasarda earning three saves and playing all 90 minutes between the posts.
The Regals remain undefeated as they move into conference play. They take on their first SCIAC opponent in Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on the road on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m.
