Squads Go Scoreless; Regals Tie Linfield 0-0

McMINVILLE, Ore. - Cal Lutheran women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw on the road against Linfield University on Thursday evening.

Despite multiple offensive attempts from both sides, neither team managed to find the back of the net, thanks to solid defensive play. Kira Kasarda was crucial in goal for the Regals, making seven saves to preserve the clean sheet.

The Wildcats (2-0-2) came out strong early, putting pressure on Kasarda with several shots in the opening minutes. The Regals (2-0-2) responded later in the first half with shots from Avery West and Ashley Escamilla, but the game remained scoreless heading into halftime.

The second half saw more offensive pressure from both teams, as the Regals found their rhythm with seven shots, including another attempt from West that was saved. Kasarda continued her dominant play between the posts keeping Linfield off the scoreboard.

Despite increased shot totals in the second half, neither team could break the deadlock, with both defenses stepping up to maintain the 0-0 result.

The Regals look to secure a win during their two-game stretch in Oregon when they continue their road trip. Next, they take on Willamette University on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 12 p.m.
