REDLANDS, Calif. — Jessica Waters hit a three-run home run in the top of the seventh of a game one doubleheader andCal Lutheran softball clinched their first SCIAC Tournament appearance since 2015. The Regals won game one 7-6 and fell in game two 11-2 to the Redlands Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon.
The Regals moved to 11-10 in the conference and 14-17 overall. They needed big wins to hold onto the final spot in the conference tournament and did just that.
GAME ONE: Regals 7, Bulldogs, 6
Down 4-2 in the sixth inning, Hannah Booth collected an RBI with a groundout to cut the lead in half. The comeback was complete as Olivia Vargas singled in the top of the seventh, scoring Nadia Collins.
The Regals took a commanding lead as Waters delivered the clutch hit. A three-run bomb that also brought home Ashley Membrere and Reyna Perez.
Casey Edwards started in the circle for the Regals. She went 6.2 innings pitched with two strikeouts while giving up six runs. Ally Forbell came in for the final out and got the save.

The Regals carried their momentum and scored two runs in the top of the inning. Emily Blank doubled scoring Kalli Strahm and Jasmine Delgado singled scoring Blank.
Ava Tepesano recorded 3.0 innings pitched but gave up seven hits and five runs. Forbell had 1.0 innings pitched and allowed six hits and six runs in the loss.
