Kingsmen Bats Stay Hot Against Providence Christian

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The Kingsmen offense produced 11 runs on 13 hits and eight pitchers combined to get the job done in Cal Lutheran baseball's non-conference win over Providence Christian on Tuesday afternoon.

The Kingsmen (16-6) bats remained hot, as they've scored 10+ runs in three of their last four games for a total of 44 runs dating back to the series sweep of Occidental last week.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Oscar Lopez made his second start of the season and pitched the first 2.0 innings of a bullpen game for the Kingsmen. After the Sea Beggars scored the game's opening run in the top of the first, first-year Jona Dawson drove in Ethan Dungo and Griffin Zitko with a double for his first collegiate RBIs in the second inning to make it 2-1 and the Kingsmen never trailed.

The Kingsmen added three runs in the third thanks to Zitko's two-run triple and another single from Dawson and added two more runs in the fourth to make it 7-1.

Milan Bugarin came in for 2.0 innings of work after Lopez, followed by Colten Hanson, Carson Stanfield, Michael Smith, Cameron Cooper, Kyle Johnson, and Frank Willius to secure the win.
